How to Write a Service Page That Ranks and Gets Cited by AI
One service per page, the service and city in the heading, the answer first, buyer questions as headings, proof, one next step and schema behind it. Seven rules and a quick test.
Short answer: a service page ranks and gets cited when it's about one service in one place, answers the questions buyers ask in plain sentences, proves you're good at it, and makes the next step obvious. Name the service and city in the title and heading, answer first, then back it up.
1. One service per page
"Roof leak repair in Boca Raton" is a page. "Our services" is a list. Each core service needs its own address so it can rank for its own searches.
2. A title and heading that say what and where
Put the service and the city in the title tag and the main heading, in words customers use. "Tile Roof Repair in Boca Raton | Same-Week Inspections" beats "Solutions".
3. Answer first
Open with two sentences that tell a skimming reader — and an AI assistant — what you do, for whom, where, and why you. That opening is what gets quoted.
4. The questions buyers ask, as headings
- How much does it cost?
- How long does it take?
- How do I know I need it?
- What's included, and what isn't?
- Do you cover my area?
Answer each in two or three sentences under a heading phrased as the question. This is the structure featured snippets and AI answers lift.
5. Proof on the page
Reviews that mention this service, photos of real jobs, certifications, years doing it. Specific proof turns "a company that does this" into "the company to call".
6. One clear next step
A call button, a quote form or a booking link — repeated after the opening and at the end. On phones, keep it one tap away.
7. Structure behind it
Service and FAQ schema, a link back to the homepage and to related services, and the page listed in your sitemap. Invisible to visitors, clear to machines.
A quick test
Read only the first two sentences and the headings. If a stranger could say what you do, where, and what it costs roughly, the page is doing its job.
